What documentation Spain accepts

  • Bank statements: Last 3 months showing income deposits, regardless of type.
  • U.S. tax returns (last 2 years): Strongly recommended for all applicants. Shows a history of income at the required level.

Not legal advice. Income thresholds are pegged to Spain's minimum wage (SMI), annualized over its 14 statutory payments and prorated to 12 months — the method the UGE applies in practice. Thresholds change whenever Spain revises the SMI, which happens most years. This tool provides an estimate only — the UGE makes the final determination on eligibility. Consult a licensed immigration attorney for advice specific to your application.
